Most browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.) are configured to accept all cookies. However, most browsers allow you to control and also disable cookies through browser settings. However, remember that disabling navigation cookies can cause the site to malfunction and/or limit the service offered. If you prefer that Google Chrome not store a record of your visits and downloads, you can browse the web in incognito mode.
Opening an incognito window An incognito window looks different from a regular window. The top of an incognito window is gray or blue, depending on your computer or device. To open an incognito window, proceed as follows: Exiting incognito mode To exit incognito mode, you can:
Click the X icon in the corner of the window
Use the keyboard shortcut Alt+F4 (Windows and Linux) or Cmd-Shift-W (Mac)
Close the last tab in a window; the window will automatically close as well

How it works
Browsing history is not recorded. Web pages viewed and files downloaded in incognito mode are not recorded in browsing or download histories. Cookies are deleted. All new cookies are deleted after you close all incognito windows. You can easily switch from incognito mode to regular mode and vice versa. You can open incognito windows and regular windows simultaneously and switch from one mode to another. Extensions are disabled. In incognito mode, extensions are automatically disabled. This is because Google Chrome does not control how your personal data is managed by extensions. If you want an extension to be displayed in incognito windows, select the 'Allow in incognito' checkbox for the extension.
Data that is stored Chrome stores updates to Favorites and general settings. Chrome stores any changes made to Favorites or general settings in incognito mode. Websites may keep a record of your visit. Incognito browsing is only meant to prevent Google Chrome from storing information about the websites you've visited. Records of your visit may still be stored on the websites you visited. In addition, any files saved on your computer or your mobile devices are preserved.

Disable third-party cookies
Third-party cookies are cookies set by a website other than the one you are currently visiting. For example, the cnn.com site might have a Facebook 'Like' button inside. That button will set a cookie that can be read by Facebook. This could be considered a third-party cookie. Some advertisers use these types of cookies to track the user's visits across all the sites where they offer their services. If a user believes that this tracking could be a source of concern and intrusion into their privacy, in Firefox, it is possible to disable third-party cookies. Note: Disabling third-party cookies may prevent tracking by advertisers in some cases but not in all. Some websites (such as Microsoft's Hotmail, MSN, and Windows Live Mail mailboxes) use third-party cookies for purposes that are not necessarily related to privacy, and disabling them can interfere with the proper functioning of those sites. The settings for third-party cookies are available in the Privacy panel of Firefox's Options window:
Click on the menu button and select Options. Select the Privacy panel. Under History settings: select use custom settings. Set the option Accept third-party cookies to never.

Note: if you find that you cannot view some of your favorite websites properly with this setting, a compromise is to set the option Accept third-party cookies to from visited. This setting allows accepting third-party cookies from websites previously visited. Interaction with social networks and external platforms
